Game changer!
I've had my eye on this for some time before I finally pulled the trigger. I have to say once used a couple of times its seasoned well and has great non-stick properties. It really does give my egg and sausage sarnies the 'edge'!Good quality and solid build as expected from Lodge.

Perfect for backpacking
She does a great job cooking up half a can of spam at a time, fits beautifully on the grill my kelly kettle set comes with, doesnt take too long to cool down once you finish cooking 10-15 minutes or so to be cool enough to be picked up by hand, use the towel you wrapped this up with to clean it afterwards.Honestly goes hand in hand with a kelly kettle like butter on toast.Big enough to cook a burger on, honestly just perfect for one person meals

Love it.
I've very fond memories as a child growing up of my father making soda bread in a cast iron pan over an open fire. When I set up my own home I inherited that cast iron pan. One ex later the pan disappeared with him never to be returned. Over the years I've had all sorts of pan, non stick, Teflon, ceramic etc but none ever lived up to that old cast iron pan. Changing my hob some years ago to induction I gave up the idea of cast iron cookware until I this popped up in my list of recommended items. Not expecting much I bought it thinking if it didn't work I wouldn't have lost too much money.I can say with hand on heart this was a pleasure to use.Even though it says it's seasoned I decided to season it myself. I set it on the hob using a gentle heat and when it started to smoke I put about half a teaspoon of beef dripping (left over from Xmas roasties) in and brushed it round go pan to coat. Once it started to smoke again I used kitchen towel to mop up the fat. I repeated this 3 times.Once I was satisfied that it was seasoned properly I dropped 2 eggs in to cook which they did to perfection. I've just finished a delicious fried egg sandwich sith the eggs perfectly cooked with set whites and runny yokes. The eggs slide right out of the pan, no sticking, no debris left behind. I did use a palette knife to lift the edge so it could slide out but other than that the whole thing slid out perfectly and the pan wiped clean with kitchen towel. This is a lovely little pan just right for 2 eggs, a grilled cheese sandwich or an omelette. As with all cast iron the handle will get hot when in use and the only con I have is that the handle could be a little longer. Weight wise, it us heavy but I have arthritic fingers and wrists and I managed this okay. The photo shows the size of the pan. As you can see 2 eggs fills it totally. If you're looking for a small pan buy this and as long as you look after it you'll have a pan that will last several lifetimes.

Solid investment, solid build.
A solid investment that will last forever with a bit of care. Solid build too, and remarkably heavy for its small size - just don't drop it on your foot, or a tiled floor! Also have an oven glove or cloth handy, for when you use it and the handle becomes very hot. Believe me, it will. Being black and rough textured, it's definitely a practical - rather than aesthetic - piece of kitchenware. Having said that, it's perfect for small scale frying. A square egg to fit nicely between toasted slices, anyone? Sausage meat, likewise? Much more, besides - its versatility is limited only by the imagination!

Solid and heavy
On first using the pan I found that eggs stuck nearly immediately and I made more of an omellete rather than fried eggs. Most likely my fault due to lack of experience so will be trying again. Having read not to use fairy liquid it was a right pain to clean. the pan itself is very heavy and solid. should be some use in a zombie end of days scenario

Old-school tech: seasoned cast-iron, that does what it says.
Brilliant little pan - perfect for doing 'square' eggs that fit neatly onto a slice of toast. If I still went camping would be great for cooking iver an open fire (or maybe a bigger one if the same). Excellent quality old-school product. Pre-seasoning works well too.

Season properly before first use & you'll be fine!
This is already my favourite pan. I took the advice of other owners and gave the pan some extra seasoning before its first use. It's perfect for making grilled cheese sandwiches and, as long as you use the smaller size of loaf, the sandwich fits perfectly into the pan. Next, burgers. One decent sized burger will fit fine in the pan. Eggs; I love the fact that you can make 2 fried eggs fit the square pan so that when you put them on your bacon sandwich, they fit perfectly!

Good quality
Ideal for a handful of mushrooms or onions, no good for eggs though and too small for bread.

It's down right LODGE-ical
It's a lodge! High quality cat iron evenly heats for a good taste and cooking experience. Doesn't weight alot. To keep things from sticking all you need is some oil or grease, plus it enhances flavors. I think it's a good value for the money. Very pleased with this little skillet.

Excellent Product at Excellent Price
It's been a few days now, I bought this Lodge pan for Rs. 1399. I love to eat and cook "bread omllete" and for me it's the best pan for cooking one. In past I've tried cheap so called non-stick pans from brands like "Nirlep" & "Tosa". But it is a real pain to cook in them as they are extremely thin. But this one is very solid and if you take little bit of care it can last for generations and will get better as you use it. Go to YouTube to learn about how to take care of cast iron pans. One can use it on gas stove, oven, induction and even on camp fire (Off course you don't want use metal in a microwave). Will buy more cast iron cookware in future.I'm a little bit disappointed with the packaging as it was not packed in a box and there was no bubble wrap up around it.
