Incredible

Blistering speed - for my first time ever the CPU got a higher score than GPU (RX480) in 3D Mark (Time Spy test).Intel makes really good processors, I'm utterly amazed how they fit four cores *and* a very decent GPU into this tiny processor with such reliability and performance. It's quite expensive but there are features that justify the price for me:1. Build in Graphics processor is very decent - it handles all web browser graphics and video, and can drive multiple screens. If you do not need the sort of power to play top end games, you will not need to buy a separate graphics card.2. It's designed to be overclocked - I'll reserve that for the future. At the moment it doesn't need any improvement from the factory settings; but in 5 years' time, who knows? It will help it keep up with newer models, therefore increasing its longevity. It arrives factory sealed with permanent tape over the box flap. Intel does not spend its money on packaging but it's adequately protected. You need a cooler to go with it, I'm using Cooler Master Hyper TX3i.As usual, pins are on the motherboard, not the CPU, and installation is easy - but also very scary, considering the price. The trickiest part is after installation - attaching the heat sink and stressing over the perfect paste application.Temperatures are around 35℃ most of the time, 40-45℃ during 3D Mark GPU tests and 80℃ during CPU test.As mentioned, I have never had a CPU that blasted through the 3D Mark tests like this - Time Spy CPU test starts at 60 FPS, and finishes at 18FPS without overclocking.

Top processor at a great price , and also great service from Amazon !

I have upgraded from an i5 7600k wich was 100% load in games like Battlefield 1 . I did heard about the overheating problems that i7 7700k processors have , but I believe it's only luck that keeps you from getting a good processor . In my case , the first one was heating up bad , even on watercooling on an expensive system. so I decided to speak to amazon to see if I can get another one as a replacement .they were helpful as always and they understood my problem . I just installed the replacement and I must say it is a big improvement . The first one was getting up to 90c max temp , while this one stays at around 70c max. on the exact same system and cooling . Thanks to amazon's great customer service I was able to get the performance I was after for the top money I paid . great processor if you game a lot like me , and future proof also .

To be honest the FPS is better slightly at the highs but the minimums are way ...

From what Ive seen so far.Beast of a gaming CPU and that's all I use this rig for.I don't stream or do any 4k (or otherwise) rendering with it. I have an X99 rig for that if needed but that's being used by the other half at the mo.Temps run hotter than I'm use too with the X99 5820k. The H80 V2 was what I used with the 5820k and then for a short while with the 7700k. I've bought a Kraken x62 which is a cracking bit of kit and keeps the temps around 49-54c on load @ 4.5GHz in ghost recon wildlands. I'll be overclocking it up to 5ghz when I get a bit of free time.Paired the 7700k with an Asus Apex using Trident Z memory. To be honest the FPS is better slightly at the highs but the minimums are way better and stable for the games I use.I hope this helps someone!

Would recommend

Good CPU. I have only slightly overclocked it to 4.5Ghz to get my memory running at 4000Mhz. But boy did it make a difference. I would recommend it - idle temps are 30C and under load it gets to 60C (H100i V2 cooler) Only issue I have noticed is the temperatures tend to fluctuate quite a lot. For example when I am idle I will sometimes see the temp jump to 45-50C for a second then go back down without seeing the CPU usage increase accordingly. I have done some research and apparently it is nothing to worry about - a lot of users are experiencing the same spikes and intel don't deem it as an issue.

That's what I was told and did and couldn't be happier with my purchase

If your thinking of buying an i5-7600k, just save up and buy the i7-7700k. That's what I was told and did and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Fast and powerful proccessing power and next best thing if you cant afford i7-8700k. Plus if you think you need a liqued cooler for it you don't because the cooler master hype evo 212 is enough for it for gaming atleast on the i7-7700k. Temps stay between 45-55 degrees Celsius when under load of games like the witcher 3: wild hunt. If your not happy with that I think it's ok to add another fan onto the other side of the hyper evo to have a push and pull configuration just research it to make sure otherwise get a 240mm liquid cooler it's expensive but efficient. If you also do plan on doing a lot of overclocking at high speeds where the voltage go's up significantly I recommend going with a 240mm liquid cooler.

No hassle replacement

These people are fantastic to deal with. The first processor they sent had a fault, which was a shame as I went through quite a lot of effort to solve the issue, but it turned out to be the hardware itself. These guys offered to replace the part and reimbursed me for the shipping of the faulty part back to them. The new part worked immediately. Easy to install. They even supplied paste although I had bought my own. Would deal with them again.

Got a great chip!

As all CPUs are unique, I can only speak for mine, but I received an amazing overclocker! It reached 5.2Ghz easily on my Asus Prime Z270-A motherboard. I even got Windows to boot at 5.3Ghz, but heat was becoming an issue, so I backed it down to 5.2Ghz, and 5.1Ghz for 24/7 clocks. At the end of the day, it's an i7 7700K, a pretty iterative update to the 6th generation Skylake, so you should know what to expect here. I was upgrading from an Ivybridge 3770K system, so there was still a decent leap forward there for me going from 3770K to 7700K, especially on the chipset side of things with the jump from Z77 to Z270, but if you're on a Skylake system, It will certainly be a small step forward. From my point of view though, it's an easy five stars!
