CompTIA Linux+ Study Guide: Exam XK0-005 (Sybex Study Guide)

Passed Linux+
I used this as one of the resources and it gave me a firm foundation on what I needed to know. However, the test isn't just a knowledge dump, you need to know how to apply the concepts detailed out in the book. So don't half-step on direct terminal experience and troubleshooting.

True to it's word!
Great book, packaged nicely, with no tears/rips with the book. Glad I was able to find it here on amazon for cheaper than CompTia itself or other bookstores.

Great book!!
Sybex books have helped me pass 3 exams so far, so I’m sticking with them. My only complain is that my book arrived bent up, which I’m not too happy about. Other than that, I highly recommend Sybex books!

Does not cover new exam content in detail
I teach Linux+ at a school, which uses this book by Bresnahan and Blum as additional study source, next to my own curriculum. The XK0-004 version of the book was decent, but this new version seems like a quick but incomplete update. This book for XK0-005 left in a few topics which were removed from the new exam. But what's worse, is that the book does not cover many of the big, new topics (like infrastructure as code, cloud technology and containerization) in enough detail. The book covers general theory, without delving deep enough into example code, configurations and commands.
