I needed a scale capable of measuring accurately to 1 mg (.001 grams) which is exactly what this does. I have 3 small dogs and giving them medications, vitamins, and supplements can sometimes be a challenge when working with small dosages. This scale allows me to accurately measure the dosage for all three of them, from my 25lb terrier to my 9lb chihuahua.I've also been using it to measure the weight of my baby chicks as they develop. I wish I had ordered this sooner, as I could have weighed the eggs during incubation to help determine water loss.
