These light sockets give a vintage look with an upgraded design. I restore vintage lights as a hobby. Solid brass is really the only way to give a quality look that a good restoration deserves. The screw base is a nice improvement as it is more secure (stays attached) and easier to assemble and disassemble than the vintage snap together base. The terminals are just right for a good easy to work with connection. If you are a purist, then go vintage, but these sockets do a good job of reproducing the vintage look. I recommend these sockets.

These are very good quality sockets. The wires attach via a set screw as opposed to the older type that you wrap the wire around a screw. The finish was as expected (I painted mine anyways because I could not find one that matched to what I was constructing). The cord grips hold well also.

These are nice and heavy. The weight pulls your wires straight on your hanging pendant and makes it look more finished. The lighter sockets I had bought previously did not straighten out the cords, even with heavy LED Edison bulbs. Wish I could find them in silver/stainless. I spray painted mine and they still look great but would have loved to skip that step!

The only thing wrong was that there was nothing to prevent the socket from turning in the shell when one screwed in the bulb. So I had to use and adhesive to immobilize the cardboard insulating insert. The keyed version of this socket would not have this problem.

I was impressed with the seemingly good quality solid brass feel of these. I was using to replace the lightbulb bases in a 1914 fixture. Got all the way installed, then tried to put in a lightbulb, finding that it continued to turn.Problems: 1- There is nothing to keep the bulb socket from turning inside the lovely brass outside.Result: Hazardous situation if I had already put fixture up, as wire pulls off the screw connector with chance to short out.2- Others have commented that thread may be metric- close as you can turn a few times, but no way can you advance enough to match previous bulb bases.In summary:Dangerous product unless "jury-rigged" in some manner to keep socket from rotating.DO NOT BUY!

I like the look and price. I do not like that you ask for a review when I just received them yesterday. You need time to install to see if there is quality, see if they work properly and quality is good. So far without the install the socket in the body inside spins freely as you are putting in the light bulb. This will turn and stop once the wires are twisted and cause a wire break and possible fire if turned to many times putting in a light bulb or taking one out. Could even get a shock if a wire broke

Beautiful. Well built, nice quality at a great price. I used these to make a hanging lamp with mason jars and a branch, as a gift for my son. He loves it! Nice product that I would buy again and again.

very good quality, easy to use and install, it helped me to solve the installation issue on a floor lamp I was not able to use anymore
