Not much to say except that IMO, the modern sporting person should have one of these. They certainly work well, and offer more protection for your barrel & chamber when cleaning.

The off-center pistol grip handle is a poor design, all it does is move center of effort off axis and cause the rod to flex heavily. The ferrule holding the tip in place wasn't crimped well, it pulled off the second time I tried to use it. Total waste of $$$. Dewey has been making cleaning rods for 50 years and doesn't have an off-axis handle, hmmmm.... get a BoreTech or ProShot or anything with a centered handle and tip that's part of the rod itself, not a cheap part added as an afterthought. Many of Real Avid's accessories are well designed but this cleaning rod is total garbage.

Love the handle. Wish it was a little stiffer especially since they sent me the longest one instead of the one I ordered.

Let's be honest, no one likes cleaning and I am no exception. However, this thing is almost making it enjoyable! I was skeptical of the handle at first, but seeing how different it was I had to give it a try. Wow am I impressed! First off, it is way more comfortable, especially if you've got multiple jobs in a row. My favorite part is that I'm not banging my knuckles on the stock anymore. I also love how smooth the bearings are. This is by far the best design I've seen in such a traditional industry.I'll do my best to follow up after alot more use.

This rod is great for cleaning my rifles and shotgun at home. Due to the size it is not for field use.

First of all, the packaging is poorly designed, as the metal tip where the cleaning inserts screw in comes unprotected. only the fancy handle is wrapped in any packaging. The tip on mine was damaged and had protruding burrs.I just hope that the material is softer than my precision barrel and that it didn't scratch it!Sorry Real Avid, but your packaging is protecting the wrong end! I like this brand's design, but this is a clear case of form over function.Also, this rod is way too tight in a .22 barrel. Precision fitment is good, but there is no need for it to be so tight!I will be returning and getting a Bore Tech rod instead. Not worth saving money with this.
