Makes the matching day cream last longer on skin
This works well and helps the cream set into your pores better. Without this serum the cream does not lift great results. The serum is definitely recommended, especially of you have dry skin like mine, otherwise make up just crumbles off. The serum helps it stick. However, unlike the night serum, this day one makes my eyes sting so avoid close contact on your eyes.

Vitamin C face serum
I’ve been using this for over six months now and it’s fantastic. From the first use I could see the difference in the texture of my skin, It looks more radiant after I put it on and absorbs into my skin making it softer and brighter. I use it every day and my face looks and feels amazing. It also has a subtle smell about it.

Instantly Brightening and Lightweight—A Daily Essential for Glowing, Even Skin
I’m really happy with the Garnier SkinActive Vitamin C Brightening Serum for Face. This serum has become a staple in my routine because it truly delivers on its promise of brighter, more even skin. The blend of vitamin C, niacinamide, and salicylic acid is a powerhouse combination—vitamin C helps fade dark spots and boost radiance, niacinamide soothes and hydrates, and salicylic acid gently exfoliates to keep pores clear and skin smooth. What I love most is how quickly it absorbs and how lightweight it feels. There’s no sticky or greasy residue, so it layers perfectly under moisturiser and makeup. After just a few days, my skin started to look fresher and more luminous. With consistent use, I noticed my dark spots and uneven patches began to fade, and my overall complexion looked clearer and more even-toned. The serum is also non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, which is a huge plus. The scent is light and pleasant, and the dropper bottle makes it easy to apply just the right amount. I appreciate that it’s cruelty-free and comes in a recyclable bottle, which makes it a feel-good choice for daily use. Many people mention that it’s great value for money—affordable, effective, and a little goes a long way.If you’re looking for a serum that hydrates, brightens, and helps tackle dark spots without feeling heavy, the Garnier SkinActive Vitamin C Brightening Serum is a fantastic option. It’s easy to use, feels refreshing every time, and genuinely helps your skin look healthier and more radiant day after day.

Works
This is the best part of my skincare routine alongside spf. I usually buy the masks which are infused with equivalent to one bottle of serum and my skin always looked brighter and softer and glassy so I decided to get this the actual serum (dint realise they sold it separately) it’s amazing my skins brighter and dark spots are lighter I’ve only been using the serum for approx a week but I could see the difference straight away. I also have dry to combinated skin but everyone’s skin type is different so eventhough it may work for some straight away it may take a few days for others just be patient but I’d definitely recommend adding it in to your routine. SPF doesn’t work it’s best without vit c and it’s not super priceyUPDATE**First of all my original review above was posted on the 20/03/25 I’ve just come back to give an update (13/04/25). I still give this serum five stars as it has done wonders for my skin but I would use it 2/3 times a week max to avoid damaging your skin barrier. I was using everyday sometimes twice a day forgetting it has salicylic acid in it and even though it’s not a strong percentage I think because I was getting carried away it affected my skin barrier (if you’ve ever had retinol burn you’ll understand) anyway I couldn’t put nothing on my skin for about a week. My skins back to normal but just wanted to warn people not to use it too often but it does work hope this helps

Great stuff
Really good serum, one of the really good ones with high concentration like the big brands. I wait when it goes on sale to buy but the full price is affordable anyways.

Lightweight and Gentle, But Results Unclear
I’ve used the Garnier SkinActive Vitamin C Day Serum a few times, and it’s decent. It absorbs quickly and feels lightweight on the skin, which is nice. It’s also quite gentle, so it should work well for sensitive skin. However, I can’t say much about its effectiveness yet. It doesn’t feel particularly strong, so if you’re looking for a powerful dark spot treatment, this might not be the best option. But if you need a mild, everyday serum that won’t irritate your skin, it could be worth a try.
