I ordered this set of mica powder pigments to use with resin printing. I haven't been experimenting with mixing mica powder and photopolymer resin for very long, but so far its been successful with several different brands and types of resin, including plant based resin. Adding the mica powder to the resin hasn't required any changes to cure times or printing parameters.I mix the mica powder pigment with a small amount of resin in a separate cup, really making sure to get it completely dissolved and mixed in. Then I add this mixture to the vat with resin already in it (just because I already had resin in the vat). I then used the rubber coated handle of a detailing file to mix up the resin in the vat really well. After that, I just pressed print and let the printer do its thing. I did not need to mix the resin in the vat during the print. I've been doing this for five hour prints and the powder has stayed mixed up and doesn't settle at the bottom of the vat. Super easy.Results have been great! But I'd recommend using more than you think you would need... alot more. Otherwise the effect is too subtle. So be generous with how much pigment you add if you want to see any noticeable effect. Its worth it!This set comes with mixing spoons and some disposable gloves, nice bonus. Overall, great stuff for anyone looking to start adding mica pigment to their resin printing!
