The media could not be loaded.  Quality Weather Station Tripod. Easy assembly with adjustable wrench or box wrench. Galvanized tubing with stainless nuts, bolts & washers. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of the weakest and concerning point is the riveted feet. The tubing is connected to feet with 1 riveted. IMHO it should be bolts. Davis Customer Service states that the Tripod is tested to 170 MPH. We've received gusts in 50 MPH range so far with no wobble or movement. Overall very satisfied.

When I opened the box, at first glance, I thought this tripod was spectacular and worthy of my Davis Vantage 2 Pro wind vane and anemometer. It's sturdy and rugged looking, has stainless steel hardware and a nifty "J" bracket which prevents the center mast from slipping downward. It all looked good in the box until I got to the center mast where all my disappointment rests.The center mast pole ships in two pieces and the straight forward assembly slips one piece of pipe over the other giving you a wiggling center mast.Assembled and tamped down with a mallet, the mast wiggled 1/4 in all directions and I after working with it all I could the wiggling of the central mast was too far beyond unacceptable.The crude remedies of wrapping the two sections of mast with a metal sleeve, bracing it with clamps, or crimping it until it snugged were also unacceptable. In the end, buying a 10' section of EMT at my local hardware store made this unit sturdy, strong and awesome. I cut the EMT to elevate my sensors 7' off the roof surface and VIOLA...

I'd gotten a Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station for Christmas. I ordered the mast after the holiday, as I wanted to stay with the Davis recommended products.This unit worked exactly as advertised. It was a snap to assemble and install. All components were heavy gauge steel, and are galvanized to prevent rust. The Tripod's feet can be secured to any fixed, flat surface, or, angled for roof mounting . All necessary hardware is included. I opted for the roof mount system. The provided rubber, peel & stick pads for the feet worked perfectly. They insure a water-tight seal where the unit's feet are bolted directly to your roof. The feet will adjust to any roof pitch. If roof mounting, don't forget to properly ground your mast.product.Rhino

I bought a second Davis mounting tripod for my vacation home. Very easy to install. Place it where you want, drill six holes in the three adjustable feet and screw the bolts (included) into the roof. It comes with a self sealing pads to place under each foot. When the feet are screwed tight it forms a goo which seals the holes. I put some silicone caulk around each foot to be sure. The only downside is that its pricy but it is galvanized steel and as heavy duty as it can get. I guess it depends on how tall a pole you want to attach the weather station to. It comes with two three foot sections but the tripod can easily handle a 10 ft, pole.Overall this tripod is not going anywhere in anything less than a tornado. A good choice to mount your expensive weather station!

This tripod is sturdy and well-built. The assembly instructions are clear and the tripod was easy to set up. The feet can be angled so that you can put it on a flat surface or on the roof. The mounting hardware that came with my new Vantage Pro2 Plus Weather Station is designed to fit the tripod's poles, and the whole thing went together smoothly. I suggest doing all the assembly on a flat surface (I put mine together on the family room floor). Secure the first pole into the tripod, then secure the Weather Station to the second pole without attaching the two poles. Then you can easily install the tripod assembly outside, and when it's installed just connect the two poles and secure the connection with the included hardware. I got the whole job done quickly and easily that way. A strong wind kicked up after I finished, and the everything is nice and stable. I'm happy with this tripod!

Replaced a three point guide-wire mount that was ready to fail. Easy to set-up and level the Weather Station!

Just received. Pretty easy to assemble. Seems sturdy and works well with the Ambient weather station. Shipping was quick.

Nice set up and does the job perfectly. I roof mounted this after painting it flat black to reduce the profile. Grounded the unit to my existing home ground, as we live in a lightning prone area. Sturdy tripod and the new additional clamp for making the junction between the 2 poles tight works perfectly.
