Odd But Effective
I bought three different LED lights from different sources on Amazon for various tanks and this one is by far the best for the money. For years I have forked out nearly $100 a year to replace high end actinic fluorescents for my reef tank but they just seem to get continually dimmer. This one little unit was brighter and more vibrant than my old one or the others I bought and the only one with sufficient blue to accommodate my corals. I now remember why I spent so much for a salt water aquarium...One caution is that while it is sealed with silicone gaskets it is not the least bit water tight. I found out the hard way when in my eagerness to see its output I balanced it across the corner and dropped it in. It still works and the fish are fine, but I got intimate with how many screws this has and how much labor went into its construction. I will buy several more of these both to retrofit old fluorescents or simply to replace them. Overall: a winner you won't regret.

Not compatible with any of there own tech.
These are 10 years old and not a replacement for any panorama lights unless they are 10 years old. I'm very disappointed at the lack of up front information about these. They are not supported by ecoxotic any more and the person I talked with did not even know that these lights were still on the market. Please do yourself a favor and don't get these for your tank.

Not very reliable
It's a good light, but poorer quality than I expect from Ecoxotic. It seems to have a loose contact so sometimes goes dark.... disappointing.

Insane shimmer!
I have a 65g salt water tank and really didn't like the "plain Jane" look of my fluorescent lighting. It just seemed so flat and boring. I really like the metal halide lights (who doesn't)but don't like the cost and power consumption. Also, having to possibly run a chiller in the summer months was totally out of the question. So I took a leap of faith and began purchasing these LED's. I have 3 hooked up now and I'm totally impressed. They're tiny and fit anywhere. I built a custom rack out of plywood and they sit right over the water under my old hood. Now there's tons of empty space under there and I'm thinking about fabricating a new lower profile hood. Just plug them into your timers or wall outlet and you're set. I plan on adding three more as each paycheck comes in. The beauty of these is that they are totally modular and you can add move them around as you please. One misconception is that the adds say "No heat". There is heat. Nothing like anything else on the market, but there is still heat being generated. However, it all dissipates up away from the water. There is little to no heat directed at the water surface. I would suggest you have at least 3 inches of space above the lights to allow heat to dissipate. No need for a fan. The light coming from these is sharp and bright for the level of power being consumed. The shimmer effect is insane.

My corals love it
I have one of these on top of my 12gallon nanocube. I had to rig it to sit on top with a metal bar, as there's no good way to just have it sit across the tank. Annoying problem, but at least the light works well. I've had it on there about 6 months & my mushrooms, zoos, frogspawn & pipe organ corals are all growing.

Great Refugium Light
Bright light. Great for a refugium light. This was a replacement for an older model. I liked the plastic cover, as my old fixture was done in by condensation. The old fixture slipped inside the walls of my refugium with the tabs keeping it from falling in. The dimensions of this light were bigger. It doesn't fit in the same configuration.
