My 12 yr old Roper washer machine was making squeaking noises during the spin cycles. After some Google searches it lead me to replace the belt and Splutch. This kit came with all the necessary parts except a new belt to get this job done in 10-15mins and now the squeaking noise has gone away.AppliancePartsPro has a great Youtube Video on how to do the replacement and tools needed.

Worked to fix a grinding noise on my Cabrio washer on the agitate cycle. Also added some Locktite blue on the nut provided.

I recently ordered 2 of these splutch assemblies "UPGRADED W10721967 Splutch Cam Kit". If your original cam ring is damaged I would not buy this one. The cam ring that comes with this kit seems to be a bit big/tight inside of the splutch housing. We were able to use the original cam ring in both cases but I thought I'd mention that if the cam ring is needed it seems quite tight and may prevent the spring from pushing the basket drive gear down to engage properly with the drive pulley. Otherwise minus the cam ring the washer is working like it's new again.

These parts are OEM quality. Installation was much more simple than expected. The quality of each part made installation simple and quick. This is a wear item so if needed I’ll use this kit again. I am well satisfied and recommend this kit.

Tried unsuccessfully for over an hour to install the new splutch kit. Could not get the tabs on the housing to fully engage in the slots in the transmission housing. Finally took it off, and compared the tabs on the new housing to the old splutch housing. There were some minor discrepancies which apparantly hindered the proper installation. I tried using the gear parts from the new kit by installing with the old housing and tabs twisted into place easily on the first try.

The gears stripped out in less than a year. We aren't doing a lot of laundry in our house every week as there are only two of us. Do yourself a favor and buy a genuine OEM Whirlpool part. This is junk.

Is a cheap fix. If you have patience and little skills with your hands then you can save $75-$150 on repairs.
