I really like this little washing bowl. It's deep enough to wash a good quantity of food, but not so big or wide that it takes up the whole cupboard. There's enough room to fit your grains or produce in the bottom and get them washed. I like that unlike other strainers, this one does not have the holes on the bottom--they're on the side. This allows you to soak things or soap them without the soapy water running straight through. That being said, because the bowl curves on the side, when you go to pour the water out, there's enough of a lip that your food doesn't fall out of the bowl. You're not doing that thing where you try to hold back the food with your hand while leaving enough room for the water to run out. The bowl drains fast enough for washing fruits and veggies, but the holes are small enough to wash grains. All in all, I'm quite pleased with this washing bowl. Recommended!

This is the handiest colander for rinsing rice and beans. It's shaped like a helmet (Go, Speed Racer!) and that shape seems to serve a useful purpose in that the bowl is large enough to spread out the food item to thoroughly rinse it and remove any debris, and the holes in the strainer are small enough not to lose the rice itself. My teenage son cooks rice nearly every day and he, too, loves this. We also ordered a container made for storing dry rice with a snap-on lid which also serves as a measuring cup. That, too, has been very helpful.

Great idea. You can use less water to rinse all of your fruit, but a few bits of quinoa will get stuck in the holes sometimes. You gotta work to get those out but I am happy with the quality for the price.

This Quinoa strainer and rice washer is great to have in the kitchen. I cook rice about 4 times a week (I know is a lot but my husband and oldest son can live of rice)and this has made it much easier to wash my rice, I'm no longer wasting rice when I try to wash it because a good amount always ended up on the sink.This rice washer is the perfect size for my family, I wash about 4 cups of rice.I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review, I'm not obligated to rate it five stars.
