Great product by a great company

We use Ubiquiti devices for all our WiFi in the school. We needed a small unit to cover a dead zone. This was a great solution. It's small, powerful, and easily integrated into our UniFi network without issue. If you are looking for a WiFi solution for a school or business and want a powerful system that is easy on your budget, Ubiquiti is the way to go!

Very Nice Access Point and System

Home user but wifi/network enthusiast. I replaced my old AirPort Extreme(s) with the FlexHD and other Unifi APs. Nice and easy setup with Unifi. Solid 5 stars with the following caveats.... First, this won't do a large house so expect to buy more access points. Plan for 1 room plus 1 interior wall on each side with the FlexHD running at 5Mhz, otherwise it falls to 2.4. Second, not really for the average person IMO, you need a techie side to appreciate the setup, otherwise just a normal plug and play wireless router might be better suited. But, if you want *complete* control of your wireless network, Unifi is a sweet setup. A note of caution, Unifi expansion can be slightly addictive and costly. I have six access points in total with 3 inside and 3 outside for complete and awesome coverage. Enjoy.

Good product poor support

Once you get this set up it does what it supposed to do. Good range. Setup was a horrendous ordeal and their support is almost non existent.

Easy Peasy Speedy and setup is cake

I admit I already have one Unifi WAP (AC Pro) and needed to replace my other 10 year old WAP, so bought this one this time around. As I have the Unifi software already configured and running on a home server, it was cake to plug this into the network. That was the hard part. In the setup website, I had to 'adopt' it, then wait for a short time while it provisioned. Then I had to click to update the firmware which it downloaded and installed, then reprovisioned itself. Done. One tip I would give anyone looking to buy a Ubiquity WAP. You don't have to wait for your WAP to arrive, I installed the software on my home server and configured my home wireless on it while I was waiting for the first WAP to arrive. So when I got it, I was already familiar with the software and had it setup already. For these, you need to go online to read the setup instructions, and download the software if not buying a controller. Please don't fault the device for this and give a bad review because you didn't know something. I even read one review where the person was expecting to directly setup the device, he was looking for it's IP to log into it so he gave a negative review because HE didn't know how these work. The beauty here is a single point of control for ALL the WAPs, and Ubiquity's other devices if you use those. Adding this second WAP was as easy as breathing as the wireless was already setup. This WAP feels nicely made, it's smaller than I thought it would be, and has good coverage. My house isn't that big, but it's an older house with lots of walls (and they are not paper thin like new homes). Lots of antique heavy wood furniture in the bedrooms (some are ceiling height) and the wireless gets eaten alive. So two WAPs on the same SSID give me coverage all the way out to the covered front porch, and out on the back porch.UPDATE- it's been 5 months, and my to UNIFI WAPs, (this, and an AC PRO) have been working flawlessly. I ended up ordering a couple of Intel based PCI NICs for a couple of my computers so they can take advantage of AC (I've been using N since before AC existed and these are my first AC WAPs) and I have good coverage.

Plug in, adopt, update, and forget about Wi-Fi issues

After going through a few iterations of UniFi gear for a two story attached townhouse (plus basement), I’ve presently settled on a pair of these to provide Wi-Fi and a bridge between two wired network segments (main + second floor, basement lab).THE GOOD: small form factor, mesh link speeds between 640-800 MBps, PoE allows for flexible placement and power, great coverage from a single device, easy management with UniFi SDN, rock solid performance above and beyond regular consumer or ISP offerings, comes with PoE injector if you don’t have a switch with this capability, easily handles higher device countsTHE BAD: a bit pricey if you’re just starting into the UniFi ecosystemTHE BOTTOM LINE: The UniFi product line offers a good balance between function and ease of use, and the Flex HD APs are my go to recommendation for anyone looking to up their network game without running face first into heavyweight enterprise devices. The ecosystem is well rounded, and while there are some components that are less capable than alternatives (USG, I’m looking at you), none match the ease of use for management. Plug in, adopt, update, and you’re off and running.
