You can do hundreds of dollars' worth of damage to your control console by dropping it. This strap keeps you from dropping it. I didn't actually know I would need a strap until after I actually had one. I was hiking through some dunes on the beach - slipped and fell, my hands went flying. Had I not had my strap around my neck, the controller would have certainly been damaged and covered in sand and debry. Best purchase to date on drone accessories!
