Umagine Moon Sand Big Farm

this product is awful. The sand does not stick together as much as it appears to on TV commercials. It's an awful mess, leaving synthetic sand (need we be concerned that the chemical composition is not listed on the box?)all over the place. Like bringing real sand into your house, there is no way to contain the sand, unless perhaps you have a large four sided sandbox in your house. My son loves to play in sand so much that I was hoping this would work better than real sand in the house, but I'll stick with clay in the future. This product is also very difficult to clean up, unlike real sand, which you can vacuum, this requires wet clothes to pick up and it's not water soluable! Very difficult to clean off of toys.

I purchased this toy as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. She is 5 and appears to really like the toy. The nature of the toy requires some cleanup after use, but the effort was not excessive. All in all, a hands-on toy that develops both dexterity and imagination.

I bought it as Christmas present for my nephew and she love it!!! It is nice to keep the childs away from electronic devices and stimulate their imagination.It needs some supervision, otherwise you'll find sand in all the house!!!

Looked like a great thing on TV, but they didn't show how messy it is! It is nothing like playdough and it is just a horrible mess!! The children didn't even like it because the sand got in everything. It is definately not a good buy! I wish I would of known what a mess it was before I bought it for Christmas for my granddaughter. She didn't even want to play with it!

I purchased this for my grandson and he LOVES it. It requires adult supervision, which is one reason I bought it. I think it's important for parents to spend time with their kids. My daughter said they find it very educational.

You CANNOT possibly imagine what that stuff is like... they include a playmat for it, which is hilarious considering it has the consistency of wet sand. I put it in a rimmed cookie sheet but it still went all over. I mean- ALL OVER. The floor, the chair, stuck to the bottom of the feet (unlike sand, it doesn't brush off). Even outside on the deck it was a huge mess. And just for the record- I am not OCD about mess in general. Also- when they get it on them it leaves this grainy residue on the skin- I don't care if it says it's non-toxic, it can't be good. Nothing like having to give your kids a bath after playing with this. I already told my daughter that it is an outside toy only and it will NEVER be played with inside. All the colors instantly mixed together so now we have one uniform ugly color which is a mix of the 3 in the kit. I would love to know how they kept the colors separate for the kids on the front of the box long enough for the photo shoot! Bottom line: a great gift for someone you hate.

My 4 year old got this Moon Sand kit as a birthday gift. I thought it would be a great replacement for his Play-doh. It's not. Moon Sand is very, very messy and not as easily picked up as Play-doh. The play mat that comes with Moon Sand is too small to do anything to prevent messes so we now use a baking sheet with edges on it outside. The tractor does not pick up the product as advertised. You need far more of the product than comes in this kit to make the entire `farm' as shown on the box. Moon Sand works great to make the shapes in the moulds but on the flat surfaced barn building, it does not stick. Much like Play-doh, if the colors get mixed, they stay mixed so building the farmer in green overalls with a yellow head (as shown on the box) may not be such a good idea.
