I recently started learning hand lettering / calligraphy and heard about rolling rulers. The popular version was like 3x as much money, so I decided to give this one a chance first. So glad I did! Meets all my needs! Some people mentioned that it moved easily, but I haven't noticed that problem. I mean it does roll, but no more than how you have to apply some pressure to a regular ruler imo. It's especially great for drawing diagonal lines for practicing and sketching.The only thing I don't love about it is the length, but that could just be my preference so I wont take a star away for it. It's 12 inches which sounds like what you need since most paper is 8.5 x 11, however for many of the things you use a rolling ruler for, 12 inches can often get in the way. The popular version comes in a 10 inch and I can definitely see the benefit in that. For example, I often practice with a clipboard on the couch or in bed, and when drawing diagonal lines I have to readjust because the rule hits the clip at the top. If it gets too annoying, I may try and break off the tips, but we'll see. Either way its worth it to have only spent $7.

I was initially quite happy with this purchase. It worked as advertised, even if it caused some smudging with the ink on the paper at times. It rolled really well in comparison to another similar ruler I purchased, so I was satisfied.And then I made the decision to travel with it. I knew even as I was packing that I should be careful of issues and tried it pack it such that it would not break. It broke. See pictures.I am disappointed but I’m not sure what can be done about it. I’m going to try and glue this back together or purchase a new one. It seems a shame since it’s only an edge that’s been snapped off but still. I wish this were a more durable product and I don’t know what it says about the quality when it can’t even withstand some amount of travel without breaking.

You could spend a lot more, but I'm not sure you can get much better than this. It works well (doesn't slip), the graduations are easy to read, and it appears to be quite durable. I'm enjoying using it. If you haven's used a rolling ruler before take a little time to practice because there is a little learning curve. Like where to press down and how hard to press, and perhaps making a very light line the first time to double check your accuracy (squareness).I highly recommend the Acurit Rolling Ruler Measuring Rolling Ruler for beginner or pro.

I use other brands of this ruler. This one seems to be a cut above those.

The media could not be loaded.  The bar that rolls came warped, however I needed it for a class and couldnt replace it at the time. I have to continuously check to make sure it actually rolls parallel. I usually have to reset it every few inches I move. Looking for another one to replace it.

I'm happy with this ruler it makes a word of difference. I was a little unsure with the roller part because it was a little bumpy and fell off or would stick making it hard to use but I realized there were 2 more caps and that changed the game and I'm happy with it
