The kit came with everything we needed to replace the old cables on my bike. When we raised the handlebars up for easier riding, we had to extend the cables and again, this kit did the job.

This set was used to upgrade a hybrid bike. No issues with the main cables or covers, but the ferrule ends are a lot thinner than the stock ones, so I worry they will rust out and fall off pretty quickly. It was a very good deal for the money so not a real problem, and they installed easily enough. Don't forget that you'll need a specific set of wire cutters and crimp tool - don't try using your regular pliers on bike cables...

Used this kit to replace both brake cables and housing and the 3-speed thumb shifter cable and housing on an department store bike from the 70s. Liked the fact that the dimensions of the brake and shifter cables and housings were correct and compatible. Unfortunately, the swaged metal cable end options for the shifter had to be modified and customized (shortened and with a different end) to work with my thumb shifter. This isn't the fault of the kit. Just an issue with age of the bike and the now, relatively uncommon, shifter.The brakes and shifter work much more smoothly now. I am please with the quality of the cables and their housings.

As others have said housing (outer cable) is short. Working on older kids mountain bike with frozen shift cables. This bike has a continuous cable going from handlebar shifter to both front and rear derailleurs. Had to use both included cables for the repair. Would have enough for front brake but not rear brake so I left them alone. This would be fine for a bike with standoffs where bare cable shows one down tubes and horizontal bar. If this kit had an extre foot it would have been perfect, was past return window so never assume is the thought here.

I enjoy working on my own bike, and recently I replaced seat, stem, and handlebars on my "mountain bike" style every day bike, to accommodate the needs of an aging male body. Thus my handlebars are now medium high, instead of low and aggressive. All four cables to my Shimano mountain bike control hardware required new cables, and the Boao Universal set filled my requirement perfectly. Everything works nicely and the shifting is easier than it was just before the cable change-over... for cables installed in 2012 so that's enough reason right there to change 'em all. Improvement especially noticeable for front and rear derailleurs. P.S. You'll need better tools than even the best conventional dikes, to cut any of these cables properly, and that subject is addressed on YouTube.

Nice replacement cable set. I have bought several. I highly recommend them. Add a little color to your bike.
