Envizen Digital ED8850A Duo Box Pro 7-inch Handheld Digital TV/DVD Player with Built-in Tuner, Carrying Case and Car Adapter

I bought the envizen ED8858 as a replacement for a portable dvd player. It was more than I expected as it came with a Tv and built in digital tuner. Reception is very good and the color is fantastic. It also has a slot for sd card and USB. With the built in battery, you can take this anywhere. The only problem I have with it is that you cannot watch tv while driving as the digital channel keeps fading in and out. all in all, it's the best portable tv and dvd player I have ever seen and it's very portable. About the size of a 7'' notebook and very light. battery power is very good and I use the car adaptor when watching tv in my car during lunch break at work. I wish it had a retractable antenna rather than the external antenna that came with the product. For the price, you cannot ask for more. People are amazed at the color and reception not to mention the electronic program guide.I will highly recommend this product.

This unit is very easy to set up, just charge it and then turn it on and follow some basic instructions. I like this product overall and it does most of the stuff that it says it does, but the poor sound quality when using it with videogames was a real bummer. It does not let me turn down the volume at all, so it is super loud and sounded like it might blow out the speakers. (product quality= 3 stars) i have to use the portable speakers from my MP3 player with an extension cable that I had to purchase. It works fine now, but was very dissapointed with that problem. Also the volume sometimes does not turn up enough when you are watching a DVD, so it could be hard to hear it, even with headphones, I noticed this was mostly a problem on my 4 hour plane ride back and fourth from the east to the west coast.Also the picture screen is very small (3 stars for picture quality.) and could be more clear and a little wider/longer than it is, the plastic takes up too much of the screen. It is average for picture quality, I was expecting better but it might be ok for most people, I am not sure. The TV works good with surfing channels and watching the tv without interruptions, the antenna that I have to plug in gets the basic channels where i live (major city). If i go out to the boonies though it gets nothing. Another downside, if i dont plug in the external antenna, the TV does not work, even though the directions said the TV has an internal antenna that should pick up some channels. It plays dvds fine and have not used the usb or memory card features on it to show pictures from a camera and things like that yet, but i am sure it works.For the price I would say it is a good product also (4 stars) because I found it hard to get something that was small and could watch tv, dvd, and where i could play my playstation and other consoles on a mini tv without having to connect it to something much more huge if i am travelling or on the go.

OK, first off this was a great deal, Its a portable TV/DVD/Media Card Reader/USB Thumb Drive Reader, all in One, the fact that this little ditty can do so many things for just north of $100 is amazing too me. But let me tell you it all happened only after I had to return the first one, I got from the Deal Barn, first it took about 1 week and half to get to me, felt like 3 dont know why... When i finally got the product, first thing how does the tv work, looks great, picked up plenty of channels, screen and unit came clean only that the top of my unit had finger prints and looked scratched, ok i know this wasnt new or at least had been returned because the darn thing would not play any blank branded dvd's... It played all the store bought or rented dvd's just fine, but i do have a collection of burnt ones as well and it wouldnt play all 5 brands of discs i have used from maxell,tdk, sony to ri-data etc, so that was a big big issue with me, so i said lets see how the media reader and usb work, both worked ok, i just have to have the files in the right format to read, read mp3's just fine, didnt do a movie yet but i am sure it will read it too, overall the item is easy to use and looks very nice sound speakers are loud. ok what next: I called the mfg directly to see if this thing like a paricular brand of blank dvd's but i said you know thats not good enough its within warranty i want a new one, i found out the company is located in walnut, ca, about 5 minutes from my home and asked if i could stop by and do a direct even exchange, the lady on the phone for customer service-Pamela was very nice and told me to come on over after bringing the item and the reciept she told me to sit down in the office waited about 20 min's for the technician to do the once over on my machine and they confirmed the laser on the dvd player was defective and not reading the discs so she brought out a new one put a blank movie they had (go figure!) and it played in seconds she jotted down the serial number and said have a great day, it was very good experience and the level of customer service was very good thank goodness i live close to the warehouse/offices or this probably would have been a big return and refund from the deal barn. I luv the product it works well and now i have tried all my different dvd's they all play well, so it was work the hassle of going directly to the mfg. and getting this done, so watch out when you first get yours if there is something wrong call the mfg, they are very good in getting you taken care of....
