These come in such a great plastic container, with the full scale on the back and fantastically detailed instructions! Each pad has 4 unique pads to ensure the highest quality test. They are fantastic for people with fish (and the price is WAAYY far cheaper too!), people who care for specialized plants and want to know the pH balance on their water, Science experiments for Mom's who want to do something cool with their kids (go test pH level of common things...its pretty cool!)There have also been numerous studies about how cancer and other such diseases have a more difficult time living in people with a more alkaline system (versus acidic) and although there are no hard and fast results there appears to be definite correlation. And there are well documented studies showing that people with a more acidic pH are more susceptible to things like (like osteoporosis) I mean everything in nature requires a proper pH for health so it stands to follow there may actually be a true connection.Anyhow, back to the strips. I decided to run the gamut and use them in a variety of ways. So I tested my fish tank against a more complicated kit that uses different liquids and a vial. Dead on accurate to the more complicated method, I tested my coffee (which is acidic) and I tested my shampoo (which proclaims to be pH balanced!) and found that was not entirely the case.At any rate, these are great for so many purposes in day to day and are super handy to use. Plus the hard plastic case keeps them perfectly safe! I received them at a discount for a fair and honest review, without any compensation of promises of what rating to give them.

The scale is not accurate enough for my needs. I bought it to test the pH of water produced by water alkalizing pitchers, but I couldn't tell the difference between before and after treatment. Could have been due to the pitchers not working properly, but, at least, I expected a slight difference in the pH reading.

I just wrote a review for this product on the wrong product slot. Sorry! In my prior review, I mentioned that I may be doing something wrong. However, I did in fact follow the instructions and did a little research on these types of tests. I keep getting the same readings on everthing, and everyone I test. I have tested myself and several of my friends, along with my drinking water and my soils I use for my greenhouse and indoor gardening projects. I get the same readings on everything I test which is between a 6 and 7 (Normal) and I find this rather dificult to swallow due to the fact I know I eat and drink a complete and total diet than those in which I've tested. If there are any suggestions for me to try I am willing to do so. As for now...Complete waste of money!

Not sure why at the top of the page it says there are 113 reviews, but at the bottom there are zero. Well here's my opinion so far. We tested our saliva and were thrilled that we were both exactly a 7, but then I started wondering about the accuracy. I tested 3 different liquids (tea, lemon water, and olive oil). Now I'm not so thrilled. I'll try some more at a later date. Will let you know if anything changes.

It's nice to get the scoop on your bottled water. That's what I'm after. Also the tap or refrigertor water. Mom was having stomach irritation and that was eliminated when we sorted out better water for her. It was a bottled water that was acidic that was getting to her. Be sure and check yours! You may be surprised that bottled water is mostly fancy labeling. Even the expensive ones.

Product a bit difficult to match corresponding colors. Otherwise, useful for estimating pH. Will continue to use.

I am skeptical about its accuracy, but it will do for now.
