Thorough
Well-researched, thoughtful book on the state of CS education. Completely frustrated at the small size of the illustrations. Effectively useless to me, even with my reading glasses. However, the book should be mandatory reading for every CS teacher in the country. I perceived it as an easy read; more pragmatic than scholarly (Although it has solid academic chops). Some surprises. Wish she would have been more courageous in recommending languages for beginners, especially anxious ones. I constantly fight a battle with Java aficionados (I love the language, but...) who completely ignore cognitive load when promoting their 'baby'. Could have used some help here! But I digress. Glad someone is writing about CS pedagogy. It is a subject whose time has come.
