Good replacement for the 7152P remote for the Python 872 system.

Directed Support was helpful in identifying the 7254P ( www.amazon.com/dp/B00B14FE1O/ ) remote as the replacement for my original 2-way remote 7251P, but I bought this one instead and it works effectively as the replacement for the "companion" 7152P 1-way remote.4 stars though for a bit ambiguous programming instructions that could be improved. And btw in case you didn't know, the "control panel" is simply the slim black piece on your windshield with the blue led and single button. My system was originally installed with everything pretty much on default settings. With that in mind, if you have the same 872 model, be sure to be quick to "prepare the remote control for learning" after you've finished with "prepare the system for learning" because there appears to be a short timer for you to program the remote once you've started the process (this timer is not mentioned.) Apparently, that timer runs out when you hear 3 short chirps from the CAR...that happened when I got to step 2 on "prepare the remote control for learning" -- and now I understand that means times-up and you need to re-do the process over again. I didn't know that, but I moved onto step 3 and held the lock button for a good minute (thinking it was going through all the sync codes) before giving up and starting over again. I did the process quicker and step 3 worked instantly. And you'll notice step 3 isn't clear to "press and hold" or "press repeatedly." It just says "press the lock button until the siren sounds to confirm the remote is learned."But there's more: right after what I assumed now everything was fine, I put the ignition back to slot 1 and the full car alarm went off. (Here's when you should simply press the unlock button if it happens to you to avoid the trouble I went through.) Hurriedly and confused, I put the ignition into slot 2 again and pressed the button on the control panel -- that turned off the siren instantly but also (unknown to me,) put the system into what's known as "valet mode" which apparently turns off the system completely with a solid blue led on the panel. The doors locked from the remote, no car chirp was emitted, and the blue led stayed solid. The regular "owner's guide" doesn't even tell you what "valet mode" is (not to be confused with "valet take-over"); I had to dig out the larger "installation guide" to find out how to disable it -- which is pretty simple, just go back to slot 2 ignition, then slot 0, and then immediately press the control panel button once, and NOW the system is back to normal. Thankfully I still had this installation guide because a solid blue led means the system will lock the doors, but not arm! This is a really dumb "feature" to me because when you're at the shop, you either lock the doors manually and give them the key, or you arm the system (being sure to tell them it's armed) and give them the key+remote and hope they're not stupid enough to NOT know what the "unlock" button on the remote does -- you don't even need to know English because it's all icons.P.S. The battery *is* included and the back cover design is infinitely better than the older back slider cover remotes. From what I understand, it still takes a single CR2032 button battery -- but don't quote me on that.

Control center is the black panel on your windshield!

Easy, fairly inexpensive replacement for my old 7154P key pad that fell apart and was duct taped together. Easy to setup but for me I had to do some research because my car wouldn't make the chirp when you try to activate the control center. Some research on YouTube led me to turn the key until all the lights on the dash come on but don't turn the ignition on like the directions indicated. Presto! Tried the control center, got the chirp and everything was quick and easy from there. Plan on buying a second as a back up.

Replaced the remotes for my python 411 and was easy to install

Replaced the remotes for my python 411 and was easy to install. Just remember when following the directions for remote pairing that it will only work after you have done what all the directions explain and then you must turn the vehicle off and remove the key then remote start the vehicle, etc. Other than that they are better quality than the original.

Junk. Only lasts a few months

I have purchased several of these remotes. They last about 5-6 months then they slowly stop working. They start making beeping noises when you hit the buttons and fail to start the car or unlock doors. It’s a shame they aren’t made to last. Junk. Do not buy a Python system.
