If you have never taken an iPad apart read this review...
I have never taken anything apart and put it back together...and I probably should not have started with an iPad. Anyway, I purchased this kit and it comes with more things in it than I needed...however I also used some tweezers and I could have used some safety glasses and something to catch flying glass shards π³...I read through some reviews that said it didn't include a home button ribbon cable and that is correct...so just in case I purchased one. I ended up not breaking mine...but used the new one anyway. The worst part (besides the bloody knuckles from broken glass and the 4-5 hours this took) the recommended video didn't tell me what the heck to do with the ribbon cable for the home button....so I had to find another short video to show me that I had to take the little screws off the back of the home button and replace the plastic spacer pieces with the new ribbon cable. I recommend you do this before you begin to install the new screen. And make sure to tighten those little screws in firmly. I had a problem with them not being tight enough and the button back was a little loose and wouldn't work and I ended up having to put on and take off the screen 3 or 4 times till I got it right...I have never done this kind of thing before....you need to know that it is not a simple take old glass off put new glass on...you literally take your entire iPad apart. Mind you, that isn't that difficult....it's only 3 ribbon cables. But keep in mind they are potentially delicate and quite tiny and you need a steady hand and gentle touch. So, with all that being said...no one is more surprised than me that my iPad is actually right back to normal (I'm using it right now). My advice would be to watch the video all the way through so you know what you're getting into...buy the home button ribbon cable....watch that install video as well...and if you can afford it...pay someone else to do it!! π

No Home button cable!!!!! Very upsetting!
This kit is awsome plus there's a video on youtube with step by step instructions. Just typr icracked screen replacement and you'll find it. My only complaint (and the reason that I subtracted 2 stars) is because there was supposed to be a cable connected to the home button but my kit did not include a cable so I ended up having to remove the included home button and attempt to use the one that came off of the cracked screen that I was replacing. The problem is in order to remove it from the broken screen a lot of the adhesive came off as well so once I attached it to the new screen and got everything put together the home button is now sunken in and you have to press it really hard for it to work and it only works sometimes. If the kit I recieved would have have a cable attached to the home button like it should have all of this could have been avoided. The problem is that without the cable the home button will not work so the fact that my kit didn't have the cable is really upsetting. Unfortunately from reading other posts it seems that this is not an isolated incident as many other people have complained of the same thing. What really upsets me is now because I have everything put back together in order for me to try to order a new home button with the proper adhesive I would have to take everything apart again and I'm assuming in order to do so I would probably have to break the screen to get it off the brand new screen which I don't think is fair to me I should not have to replace the screen because the company neglected to send me all of the necessary equipment I could see if it was missing a little screw or something like that that would be one thing but this is a essential component to making the screen work your home button has to have the cable I believe it's called a flex cable I may be wrong but either way it's a cable that connects to the home button to make the home button work without that cable the home button does not work the fact that this kid that I receive did not have the cable is ridiculous because I'm now faced with potentially having to order another kit and redo this entire thing all over again which took me a couple of hours to do in the first place.

EXCELLENT QUALITY
If you are looking to fix your screen THIS IS THE ONE TO GET!!! (sorry, just could not stress that enough). I am a 52 yr old woman, no technical experience whatsoever, and 'not so great' eyesight. I cracked my ipad and was tired of getting glass slivers in my fingers every time I tried to crush candies. At first I ordered another brand, as it was a few dollars less expensive, and had decent reviews. BIG MISTAKE....While I was able to change the screen the home button did not align properly. At that point I was thinging 'what the heck'. I went ahead and removed the old one from the cracked screen and tried to McGuyver something. It worked for a while but the glass never properly sat back in the housing and it to cracked. Back to the drawing board. I ordered this set and am so happy I did. There is no comparison to the quality of both the glass, tools, and packaging. (Yes, that matters too as the first one I ordered had a broken bevel.) Anyways...If you need to get a new one I highly recommend this one along with watching the you-tube video, and a glass of wine or two --just to work up the nerve to take your beloved ipad apart only to wonder if you will be able to get it back together again.....I now have a working ipad and no glass slivers in my finger. Get this one, you will be glad you did.

Good tools, near OEM fit
Kit worked well - digitizer fit is nearly OEM, but the cables are a little harder to plug in than the originals. Comes with high quality tools that can be used multiple times. However, the instructional video they refer to has some omissions, and I needed to refer to another repair guide to complete the repair. Note that you should order a wifi antenna also when attempting this repair, as it is very, very easy to destroy the antenna (it's a piece of copper foil attached to both the case and the digitizer). Please be aware that this repair is MUCH more difficult than replacing an iPhone screen. And you WILL need eye protection, as the glass sprays shards as you remove it.
