Compact, Holds Heat, Looks Great
Isosteel Tableline Va-9342k 34oz Vacuum Pot with Black Color CoatingI bought this to make a quart of tea, and want it to stay hot for an hour or two. I tested it by pouring a cup of tea right after letting it steep for a few minutes. It was 185 degrees F in the cup. An hour later I poured a second cup which was 182 degrees F. I consider that excellent. The outside feels cool to the touch except for the plastic lid-stopper assembly which feels warm. The opening on top is 2 3/16 inches. This makes it easy to clean. It is made of non-magnetic 18/8 stainless steel inside and out. The outside is covered in a smooth, glossy black enamel. I do no know how scratch resistant it is but I appreciate the black color because tea leaves unsightly stains on light colored surfaces. This carafe is much smaller than the glass lined vacuum carafe it replaces. I didn't believe it holds a full liter until I measured it. I am concerned about keeping the lid-stopper clean. It is plastic with a stopper which opens about 1/8" when the lever is pressed. The beverage comes out through a 1/2" x 1/4" hole in the stopper and exits through an open plastic spout. I think I'll have to be careful to rinse out the stopper and hold the lever down to shake out excess moisture. Despite the German brand, the unit is made in China but is well made. The instructions indicate that you should not clean it in the dishwasher and that the lid comes apart for cleaning. If it does, I haven't found the technique yet using modest effort.

Clean the seal and throw it away
I used this carafe daily. I make my coffee in a french press and then transfer it to the carafe. I cleaned it daily, and made certain I ran hot water through the lid and would soak the lid in with a dishwasher tab (which usually cleans everything). After a few months, I began to notice flecks in my coffee. I thought the interior was peeling. It was actually the gasket that provides the vacuum seal, coffee residue built up under the seal. So I removed the gasket and cleaned it thoroughly. After that first incident, I made certain to clean the gasket on a regular basis. However, the continued removal of the seal caused it to stretch so that it no longer sat properly on the lid. This meant there was no longer a vacuum seal, which mean my coffee no longer stayed hot, and the carafe was no longer spill-proof.The carafe comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty, so I contacted the manufacturer and requested a replacement. I didn't care if they sent a new gasket, a new lid, or a new carafe. The manufacturer responded and asked for pictures and proof of purchase, which I provided. I received a cc to an email instructing someone to forward a replacement "if available" (they're still selling the item Amazon, of course it's available). I waited three weeks for the replacement then contacted the manufacturer again, I have not received a response.

Happy with this product!
I ordered another carafe but did not like the size because it was large and heavy when filled and my father who is elderly had difficulty lifting and pouring from it. Plus we make about 6 to 8 cups of coffee each morning and the larger carafe had so much empty space inside that the coffee cooled quickly. So I ordered this one next. I love this carafe! It holds 6 cups of coffee. I usually heat it with hot water while the coffee is brewing, and when I do that it really keeps the coffee hot for a long while. With the size and weight, even when full, is easy to manage and pour. Plus, the first carafe I ordered had the problem of the lid lining up with the handle to press while pouring. It often would tighten and be out of line with the handle. This little beauty lines up perfectly. I think it is well made and my father and I are very pleased with it.

Keeps coffee hot!
Love this! Our glass carafe broke and instead of getting a replacement, we got this! We don’t have a warming plate on our coffee maker so this is a great alternative to that. Only downfall is that the paint seems to scrap off easily, but we really didn’t get it for looks so.. it keeps coffee hot for hours and that’s all I really care about!

already answered this
the pot does not keep coffee hot more than an hour or two, and be very careful for the lid, when removing the lid, coffee is trapped inside.

Awesome!
My Parents love this and use it all the time for a pot of tea. Never leaks and stays hot for at least 4 hours. Easy to care for and used everyday. Not too big and easy to use.
