Q: Is there a wattage that’s best to stay away from when using an inverter inside your vehicle being plugged in the cigarette lighter?

You cannot charge anything over 150W via the AC outlet/cigarette-lighter. It will blow your outlet's fuse. You have to connect this thing to your car's battery with clamps for anything over 150W.

Q: Does it hold a charge?

This device converts 12 volts from your car to 110 volts that you can plug an AC charger into. It's like a plug outlet on the wall of your house. It does not function like a battery, it holds no charge. It must be plugged into the car power outlet to work.

Q: Will this work with a heating pad?

As long as your heating pad draws less than 300 watts, it will. However, at its full output you must have a 12 volt connection that will handle its 25 amp draw from the battery source. If you connect directly to your battery be sure to install a 25 amp fuse inline. If you plan on plugging into a power outlet (cigarette lighter type) be sure your vehicle has at least a fuse and wiring to support the 25 amp draw.

Q: Can this drain your car battery

Yes, it will drain the battery, if the inverter is used for long enough period and the battery is not recharged.
