The cube is smoother in the hand than most as it has curved edges, the coloured tiles are behind a clear plastic layer. The movement of the cube is very smooth and between the two, it takes a bit of getting used to but it is very nice when you do. It is easy to cut corners when you are tring to complete algorithms quickly. I'm a month or so in and really like it.The charging stand is simple but nice, the cable goes through a little gap and is attached to the stand so that when you place the cube in it and push it back, it is held in place by the charger. I've only charged it a couple of times - but equally, I'm not using it all day, probably only 15 - 20 minutes per day.Overall, the cube is good, but it is the app that makes this such a great all round package and I've not explored all of it yet! There are 5 icons at the bottom of the screen once you have paired with your cube. Starting from left to right, the first is a cup, it represents a leader board of times for the different ways that the cube can be manipulated - many of the times are ridiculously quick, sub 4 seconds! I average just below a minute so I'm a complete amateur by comparison. The second is a boxing glove this represents a series of matches that can be played, some are solo and others connect you with another online player. The third is a cube, in this section you can time yourself solving the cube - the nice feature here is that it starts to time you when you start moving the cube and stops when the cube is solved. There is also a section called solver - this will guide you through the solution from whatever state the cube is in when you start. The fourth is a gaming controller, in this section there is a series of fun games that will support you in becoming a more adept cuber, I haven't played around with this very much yet. The final icon is a graduation cap, this is the academy. It guides you through the steps to solving the cube and is a useful tool. It shows the notations for the basic algorithms to solve the cube in three layers. Using this method with some (quite a lot) of practice you should be able to get to a time below a couple of minutes. You can then sumplement this with guides on YouTube. I did find that you need to regularly reorient when going through the academy.I know that there are other smart cubes on the market, this is the only one that I have so I can't compare them with others - if you have done any research on these you will already know that this one is more expensive than the original Rubik's connect or from Gan.I really like this cube and I've picked things up from the app that have improved my times. If you are prepared to spend the money, the app really makes this a worthwhile package.

We brought this for my 10 year old son who has been asking for a Rubik’s cube for over a year but as none of us know how to solve one we thought it would be a 2 minute toy he would mix up & then after a few attempts give up & discard, so when this popped up while I was looking for a rubiks I done some research & after reading & watching some reviews decided to purchase it.Well it is amazing, worth every penny.Once he had run through the tutorial & got the idea of the moves he started following it easily. He then started challenging people online who were at the same level as him. He played with this for a few hours straight until we asked him to join in a family game.Highly recommend this for beginners & really impressed that as he gets better he can look at his stats and compete with people who are a higher level too.Worth every penny!!!

This device is very beginner friendly, but what it teaches you is very basic and could easily be taught watching YouTube videos using a £10 or less 3x3. I'd recommend this to someone as a nice addition to cubing but not needed to start learning. But if you like tech and got money to burn, it's a great device.

*It brings more funs and challenges to my families which enhanced the family relationship.*My Thought:Firstly, the app integration is absolutely stunning, I never seen such beautiful artificial intelligence, that works incredible well. It is very beginner friendly and come with easy tutorials to boost up your problem solving skills. The LED light looks futuristic at night and it is very comfortable to play with. Not to mention it also come with charging dock looks good on my desk as awesome decoration.CONS:One downside Is little bit over priced but it is worth it, if price tag is between £50-70 I would definitely recommend this product. Another problem that I encountered is a software bug, sometime when I messed up the cube, the app won't recognise the current cube status therefore you have to manually adjust that in app settings, Im pretty sure this software issues and can be fix in the future update.RETHINK:Now in day, instead buying video games, why not spend money on some "real adult toys"? Well, think again.

Rubric style cube. As advertised but electronic . Bought as a gift so not sure at present how good this will be . Fair price paid.

The colours of the physical cube & that on the app do not match. In tutorials where you are trying to get the middle colours together what is seen on the app screen is totally different (eg 5 red squares as opposed to 3 in reality) from what is present on the physical cube. Aligning it so you have the middle square at top is very difficult as often it'll be to a side or even facing downwards or away from you! It's pretty much impossible to follow & there is no way to reset it. I also contacted the seller & received no feedback from them. So, my advice is steer well clear of this absolutely useless & terrible product especially as it's so expensively priced. I'm glad I got it on amazon - god knows what issues I'd have had I ordered it on their own website!

Complicated

I bought this for my niece, who is 10, along with a genuine Rubik's Cube. This is to train on, whilst the other is to show off at school. I wish this was available when I was a kid and the training instruction make sense. I'm getting one for myself as makes you think! Only downside is my niece is Portuguese and the app doesn't accommodate the language although it covers most other ones. Hopefully this is work in progress. She's learning English, so a dual learn for her. Lol...
