COLLUSION: HOW RUSSIA HELPED TRUMP WIN THE WHITE HOUSE

Don't expect a complete exposรฉ proving guilt beyond reasonable doubt
The book starts somewhat slowly, detailing things that most people would probably be already aware of as they are in the public domain. However the pace picks up in the final third of the book, and there were a few details presented that I wasn't aware of which were sourced from any number of the anonymous informants noted in the books final pages.Overall it's worth reading, but one shouldn't expect an iron clad case to be made at this early stage.Nevertheless, for what it's worth I think the details presented are very damning, and credible despite the anonymity of many of the sources. There are simply too many connections for all of them to be coincidental. This could turn out to be every bit as scandalous as we're often led to believe.

Fascinating and chilling account of an immoral manโs links to Russia
If someone had written Trumpโs many links to Russia as fiction it would be discarded. This is a deeply troubling account where all the fingers from Russia point back to Trump. Reading between the lines Trump is at least a foreign agent. Apart from all the other laws he has broken, is this the sort of man to lead the USA ? Can all the checks and balances of the American political system allow it to survive him ?This book is easy to read despite the dizzying number of characters and subplots. It reads like a thriller. It is deeply disturbing how much corruption surrounds Trump and his team and how far back the links go. It explains how this cheat, this liar managed to survive his past misdeeds and prosper. I would recommend this book to anyone who wonders about this.

Collusion? Yes!
A sober, detailed look at Trump's collusion with Russia. Overwhelming evidence. Goes well in combination with Fire and Fury book. Two lenses showing us the same ultimate image--a guy happy to sell out the country to Russians, kooks, and actually anyone with a fistful of money, all for his own personal enrichment and ego. The emptiest imaginable husk of a man--documented here.

Well written and credible as Harding has extensive first hand ...
Well written and credible as Harding has extensive first hand knowledge of Russia with well cultivated sources. This adds to the continuing case against Trump and for conspiracy to defraud the US voters.

Good overview of everything I have followed in the newspapers ...
Good overview of everything I have followed in the newspapers the past year, with a few new tidbits. Found myself a few times forgetting I was not reading fiction!

Good read....we live in a bad world
Enjoyed it, I wonder how the world survives with so much corruption going on at the highest levels. Russia seems to be the epicenter of a great deal of corruption....we Aussies are but babes!!'

Goes from very interesting to absolutely stunning
This is the third book I have read by Luke Harding. He has brilliantly-captured one of history's biggest stories and I have no idea how he is going to top it. Maybe the truth behind BREXIT...

I found the book terribly boring. I also found myself very worried that ...
Hmm. If it is "essential" reading then I have just failed in some fundamental way as I have binned it after reading about 20-25% of it. Even though I am very interested in the subject matter and highly suspicious of Trump and his advisers, I found the book terribly boring. I also found myself very worried that the book was telling me what I wanted to believe and what the author wanted to believe and what may in fact be true (or not) based not on evidence but on some rather grubby stuff that feels more like rumours and insinuation. We are supposed to accept assertion X about Trump based on a story which is not to do with Trump but some associate of Trump who may be in favour with Trump today and out of favour with Trump tomorrow and is therefore not quintessentially a representative of Trump. The story is not supported by evidence obtained by Luke Harding but rather based on a report by a man called Steele who spoke to Harding and this man Steele will not reveal his sources or even how many layers of sources the story has passed through in order to get to us. But at a minimum the following level of indirection is acknowledged in the case of some stories : Putin has a trusted deputy who guards his door and controls access to him (doubtful in itself : trusted deputies and door-guarders tend to be different types of functionaries). The trusted deputy met with someone who Trump trusted (at least for a while). The trusted deputy had someone close to him who leaked the story of the meeting not to Steele but to someone who then leaked the story to Steele. That's the minimum number of layers : there may have been more. So we are supposed to believe not that Putin and Trump are vague fellow-travellers with some shared idiotic notions - but rather that there has been explicit collusion between them : based on the story that Putin's trusted deputy met with someone who was sometimes trusted by Trump and that the meeting was known about by an unnamed person close to the deputy who then told an another unnamed person who then told Steele who then told Harding who then told us about it.

Watergate? Nothing compared to the Trump saga
This book is extraordinary. Written by a seasoned Guardian journalist with many years' experience of covering the murky world of Russian politics and finance, the entire grubby history of Donald Trump's relationships with Russia, its oligarchs and their money-laundering is laid bare. This is a man who is unfit for any public office, and who should,by rights,be rotting in a Federal prison cell. He, his shady associates and his repellent family have, for decades, been immersed in the post-USSR corruption and criminal enterprises now state run by Vladimir Putin - also known as Trump's KGB handler. Even since the publication of this book, further revelations continue to come to light, revealing the extent of the Trump criminality. The arrogance with which Trump and his henchmen have sought to enrich themselves at the expense of the rule of law is breath-taking. Godspeed Robert Mueller. Given the shameful cowardice and complicity of Republican "lawmakers" and the apparent willingness of a large part of the population to grovel at the feet of the criminal in the White House, Mueller may well be America's last hope.

The Definitive Guide to 'Stupid Watergate'
John Oliver calls it 'Stupid Watergate' - but if you want to know the real story about the links between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, this is definitely the book to read. Luke Harding controls his writing extremely well, never falling prey to bombast or cliche, and the amount of research that went into this brilliant text is enormous. Definitely worth a read - if you were sitting on the fence or thought that Mueller's inquiry was a 'witch hunt' then this is certainly the book to convince you of the strong links that bind Trump himself and the Russians.

Excellent
One of several books I have read about Trump (Fear, Fire and Fury). In a way he's endlessly interesting, in another way he is so utterly trivial and inadequate that it's difficult to take an interest in him. This book is a very clear and readable explanation by a Guardian journalist of a complex story, taking in money laundering and all kinds of collusion with wealthy Russians. I have no knowledge of financial matters but I thought the evidence of wrongdoing was very persuasive. Highly recommended

So much of what's happening now is explained here
The author has pulled so many investigative strands together in this book that the reader can rather see what to expect from the unfolding court cases in the USA. When various commentators speculate about why Trump might be somewhat lenient on Russia and Putin they are in dire need of just reading this book. It should be compulsory reading for all in US politics and the media. By far the best book so far on the issue that I have read.
