I would actually rate this speaker a 3.5 if i could. Appearance of outer bamboo cabinet is very nice and of good quality. Very aesthetically pleasing to look at compared to other speakers. I love the look of the bamboo and it stirs a feeling of peace and well being. I thought these speakers were going to be a little smaller, something that i could easily throw in my purse and tote around. I will not be doing that with the Sinoband s300. It comes with a nice storage bag though. As for sound quality, they are ok. I am super snobby when it comes to sound, and these speakers do well to replace the desktop computer speakers. I originally ordered for my Reiki practice to use during healing sessions, but I soon found that i wasn't satisfied with the sound quality while using Bluetooth or the cord. The cord it came with is a little touchy and you got to make sure it is inserted just right or you get a little static noise. Its not that the sound quality is bad, but to me, it seems to lack depth, bass, and crispness. They make good work computer speakers or perhaps something for a guest room.UPDATE: 4/01/2016 Sinobad s300 has stopped working altogether after minimal use (like once or twice a month). If I have learned anything from these "honest" and "unbiased" reviews where they have received a free or discounted product (especially in audio technology), it is anything but unbiased. It is a totally different perspective to spend your own hard earned cash and have something not work or stop working altogether than something given for free. It's like money in politics, corrupted and deceptive. Go outside of amazon to double check reviews from other sites. And I recommend if you are looking for quality, look to the name brands that have been a test of time and spend the extra money, in the long run it will actually be less money spent and less crap in our landfills.

This speaker works nicely for my needs. I have it in the bathroom to add a bit of style and ambience. I would have rated higher except the talking voice that comes on when you connect it is SO loud it's a little unnerving. Especially when you're trying to unwind to some music and take a bath.

In its price range price except for one small issue which we will get to in a bit.The clarity in this speaker is AMAZING for the size. it isn't bass heavy nor is it designed to be but it absolutely sings with incredible sound. I listened to mainly pop / rock through this speaker and it is something really special. Rod Stewart felt like he was in my living room. Due to the lack of bass you want a good room to listen to it in (I had this one in a wood floored lounge area)So lets be clear on that - if you want a bass heavy speaker this not it. This is more like a clear mid upper frequency type speaker.On the video I recorded some tunes... which get recorded through the camera mic and then compressed by amazon. THEN they will be played back on your system - I bet for most people it still sounds pretty good.Come with Bluetooth which range is excellent and an aux in and includes cables although the 3.5mm to 3.5mm is a bit flimsy. An on off switch on the back and can also be connected to a power source although in testing the battery just kept kicking and the Bluetooth held tight at good range and even with problem devices I have like my MacBook ProThe wood grain is wonderful to touch and as a visual effect striking!The only issue is when you turn it on... it lets you know about it at maximum volume. When it connects to Bluetooth likewise and this can't be lowered which makes it a dangerous proposition in shared living arrangements and such because disconnecting Bluetooth or just turning the device one will bellow out the fact. It breaks my heart to bring it up and drop a star because the on sound quality alone this thing is great.With its flaws? Still a bargain and worth looking to purchase even if you just used the Auxiliary In.Product provided for review - its just my opinion.
