Hallmark Off to College, New Job, Everyday Encouragement Card Assortment (8 Cards with Envelopes)

I like to keep encouraging and inspirational cards around for people who have had a setback and their spirits are down. I know a card won't cure the setback, but just them knowing that you care and are thinking of them goes a long way. I like that all of the cards are different and you can send one a week to a relative, friend or other relative to help lift their spirits.

When my daughter headed off for college, we were worried about homesickness, as she hadn't been away from home for more than a week. This little packet of cards made things easier for her. Each week, I filled them out with news from home, and dropped them in the mail, along with newspaper clippings, photos and other little bits and pieces of home. Even though we spoke on the phone all the time, she especially treasured the cards.I'm not sure why the sturdiness of the cards is an issue. They are normal greeting cards, just like you'd get if you got in the car and went to the card store. I wouldn't use them as jack stands to hold up my car, but they did make it through the US Mail and a college mailroom to my daughter.

My son is a senior this year, and so of course, that means he and his friends will be graduating next year. Thinking ahead, I thought I would get these cards and be ready when the chaos begins. And these are nice cards, absolutely. But don't expect anything "college" specific. They are more along the lines of a "you've got this" attitude, which is actually nice, since I know a lot of kids don't go to college. Only one has a spot for gift card/cash. All the cards are different, and a couple of them are smaller in size. Overall, it's a pretty good selection that could work for college, new job, taking on a new project...anything where someone could needs to know they rock :)

Hallmark always does a good job creating and designing cards that share the expressions and feelings of the sender. I was excited to have this set on hand to give out for Graduation season, but I was disappointed that most of the cards were sarcastic and or inappropriate. I don't enjoy giving cards with cuss words or arrogrant. Most of these cards, I won't use.

I absolutely love these cards. Although they are packaged as an "Off to College" assortment, there is nothing in any of them that specifically mentions graduation, college, or going away. Thus, they are perfect for any occasion when you want to give someone a pat on the back, a bit of encouragement, or a sense of empowerment. They all have a simple, incredibly positive message, without being cheesy and oversentimental. The only card that I had a slight problem with is the "Being Awesome" card simply because it has a designated slot for cash or a gift card. I don't like having that pre-set spot because it would be weird to give a card and leave that slot empty. It's a minor consideration, though, and certainly would not stop me from ordering this set.

The sentiments are all encouraging and affirming so would be equally appropriate for anyone who is starting a new job or facing a tough challenge or beginning a major life change.The cards stock is substantial and of high quality, as you would expect from Hallmark.I love having these cards on hand for times when I want to give someone an atta boy or a message of encouragement.

How nice of Hallmark to create cards just for the college students. My church sends care packages to our college students every year in October to encourage them in their studies and remind them that we are thinking of them. These cars are perfect for me to send this year. Each one is a reminder of our love to these young people.
