My Dell Inspiron laptop does not have an ethernet port, so I bought the USB C to ethernet adapter and it works great when I need to directly connect my laptop to an ethernet port. Highly recommend this adapter.

Very well made and works as expected. I carry this adapter in my adapters pocket of my book bag.

I plugged it in unplug the ethernet cable from the computer plugged it into the gigabit dongle I guess you can call it a dongle.

I needed this to connect my MAC to our office network. It worked like a charm.
