The Complete Wooden Runabout Restoration Guide Kindle Edition

This book is my bible for wood boat restoration. It is helping me restore a 1948 Chris Craft that I stumbled upon and I would be completely lost without it. It has very thorough and detailed step-by-step instructions all the way from surveying a boat before purchase to restoring every final touch.Danenberg does favor specific techniques which some may say are debatable. For instance he all but dismisses most bottom restoration techniques outside of a brand new "5200" bottom. I personally agree with him on this matter but some do not. That said it still an excellent book but just research some restoration forums and talk to many restorers to get a range of opinions.Danenberg has his own website and he is very active in responding to the message boards and helpful with questions. It is clear he is passionate about his craft and helping others do it right. He points out common mistakes and short-cuts that a restorer may do and the potential disastrous results.Only minus is the e-book's images are not very high resolution, so some of the labels in the diagrams are not legible. I wish this book was still in print, but the kindle version does just fine if you don't want to pay for the inflated used paperback price (due to no supply). I've checked and the iTunes version is no better (although more spendy)

Great technical book on old wooden boat restoration; HOWEVER, you really need to bone up on your understanding of boat part terms if you're going to keep up with and understand what Danenberg is talking about. This is a must read for anybody contemplating the actual restoration of a wooden boat. There's a whole bunch more to it than just slapping on a fresh coat of varnish!!!! If you're still ready to tackle the project after reading this book, you probably really are up to doing it.

This book is perfect to get an overview of the restoration. It is easy to read, lots of pics, advices...Note: I didn't know before opening it but this book is made of the volume 1 and 2 of the "HOW TO RESTORE A WOODEN RUNABOUT"I recommend this book to everybody who wants restore a runabout.

This is a good book on boat restoration for the Kindle. The biggest drawback is the illustrations do not enlarge well when you scale them up to the point they would be readable the image is pixelated and not useable. As there a lot of illustrations this is a major drawback to the Kindle version. Get the book in dead tree form if you need the pictures and illustrations.

My husband loves this book. He has several pages marked to refer to. Looks like a Bible for Boat Restorers. Had difficulty finding this. It is used but in outstanding condition, as advertised.

Includes info on repairing or rebuilding. Detailed procedures and also includes recommended materials. It gave me the confidence to begin repairing my 1955 lapstrake Thompson.

The book I chose both through Amazon and Classic wooden boating websites is perfect for the job of looking after a special item like a vintage Chris Craft runabout, in addition Amazon's service was amazing. i was advised the item would be approx 4 weeks to arrive in fact I received it 7 days later half way around the world - fantastic!

Great read for any classic boat owner

This is the bible for wooden boat restoration and is invaluable for anyone owning, buying or preserving a wood boat. The techniques and tips are from a shipwright perspective, and provide direction for a professional job, by professional or novice.I purchased this on Kindle for twenty bucks; the resale editions on Amazon were over $700 and I resent having spent $130 for only Volume 2.It would sure help to zoom the illustraions as they contain a lot of detail.

VERY GOOD BOOK.I WOULD RATE THIS BOOK FOR FANTASTIC LIBRARY AND A MUST FOR COLLECTION OF THE BOAT BUILDONG RESTORATION.
