I bought this device and one with a larger magnet base. This device works excellent on chain link fence posts and other objects and it was stronger than the other mount. I returned the bigger mount that was awkward and less stable upon being mounted to a fence post and bought a second one of these devices. I highly recommend buying an adjustable small rig mount with this. Perfect combo if you are filming your kids' baseball/softball games etc. High recommend this product over other available options.

UPDATE: It lasted 11 months. But I stuck it on my forklift and took it off to charge it every day. The screw broke off, so cant use it now. See new picture.The magnet is very strong. So strong that you have to be careful not to damage anything that is painted. I just stick it to a forklift so no worries if it gets scratched.It can be set to 90 degrees to stick to a wall. I use it for a bluetooth speaker. The ball that the screw turns up against is very smooth. So occasionally the speaker gets out of position unless you get it super tight. I figure over time the ball will get roughed up and stay better. It it quite heavy but it feels very solid and durable. There is a large rubber coated washer that you can tighten so whatever you attach it to won't come unscrewed. See the last picture.

its a little more than i usually spend on these things, but i've been sorry with the cheap stuff. this device seems to hold the ball very tight (i've had ones that did not). the knob is kind of large, and while the image doesn't show it, your getting the one with that wire attached, which adds bulk and weight. and its so strong i can't seem to bend it out of the way. the magnate is very strong, i'd say while it looks like a ceramic, it acts like a neodymium. the base is 1 1/8" dia, its 2 1/4" tall, the threads do look pretty tall in this, you may have to shave it down or cinch the bottom plate up. with the knob there it sticks out about 2" total from front to back. and it weighs a bit.it has a removable 3/8" adapter and the whole thing is made of metal. looks to be aluminum.

I used these in France to mount multiplle GoPRO5s and Gear360 to my WW2 jeep and drive around. They stick like glue! but do come off! They held the camera steady and locked it in tight and allowed good adjustment to the angles as needed. They also are great for attaching to other metal objects, the thicker the metal the stonger the hold. I mounted them on a half track and you had to "want it" to get it back.I continue to use them back in the states and are now critical gear to carry in my camera case.I bought multiples and will buy more!

This is great for a go pro less great for a projector or DSLR. It’s smaller then you expect. Nut Handel makes it hard to get a good torque and it really would benefit from a larger diameter magnetic plate. The magnet is strong and will mar paint it lifted improperly. But a large one would be more steady and could have had s soft pad on base.

The build quality and finish is nice. The ball is easy to adjust and one you do tighten the knob it stayed secure.Be aware that the magnetic ball foot can be either black or silver. For whatever reason what you get is random. I wish there is two separate models so you can really pick the one you want. This is not mentioned anywhere in the description on Amazon but it's mentioned in a separate insert that come in the package.Since I got the silver one which is different that the black one show here. I contacted the manufacture and they sent me a black one promptly. So the support is good as well.

I've been looking for a simple and effective solution to mount my Arlo security cameras.. Now I've used other solutions and none of them worked well. This is by far the BEST solution if you don't want to drill or just too lazy to mount your Arlo cameras. I have metal bars by one of the windows and this worked perfectly. The magnet is STRONG and I know it will not fall off as it is on 2nd floor. I suppose time will tell but so far so good.

This was not quite tall enough for my application (a mount for a Wyze camera) so I returned it. Having said that, here are my reflections. This product is VERY well made. It is made of metal and is nicely machined. All the pieces fit very precisely and are well finished. Even though its size was not quite what I needed, I can with gusto recommend this product as well built and functional.

I'll get the bad out of the way first; it's a pretty strong magnet but there's no rubber or soft coating on the bottom so it scratches any surface it attaches too, definitely don't want to use it on a vehicle, and I'm not sure how well it would hold a GoPro or the like at any speed..If you don't care about the metal your attaching it to I'm sure it would hold well, the ball joint is super tight, plenty of degrees of movement, small as to fit pretty much anywhere, solidly built and out of steel, not aluminium, which will stand the test of time..There are just too few places I want to put it that I don't care if I scratch.. Spend the extra money and get one with a soft bottom, then it can go anywhere without worry.

Very strong magnet! Useing this daily for over a month now with a cordless work light that is probably heavier than a camera. Has outlasted a cheaper version already.
