Works great on Linux
Plugged in the cable and the kernel immediately detected an FTDI FT232RL USB UART and attached it to /dev/ttyUSB0. Everything worked great the first time I tried this with CHIRP and an IC-208H The jacket on the cable is better then I expected and is very flexible. The cable length is good if you have the radio right next to your computer, if not you may want to get an extension for either end.

Works for TYT TH-9000 and super easy to use
As usual the Valley Enterprises cable works first time every time. Plug it in,Windows finds the driver or follow the link Valley provides and violia! You are communicating with the radio in minutes. My only nag is a minor one. The status LEDs are on the bottom of the hood when plugged into a USB port -- really difficult to see -IF- you did need them. But again that is so minor its hardly worth mentioning. And for those of You who asked YES this cable does work with my TYT TH-9000 and CHIRP. The TYT software I used that came with the radio went T-U after 6 months and had issues with windows and my security software anyway. CHIRP and the Valley cable downloaded the current config of the radio and allowed me to make programming updates seamlessly within a few mins of the cable arriving. Thanks to Valley for making a quality product for us Ham's

Works great - very stable
I bought this for my Alinco DJ-C7, but the jack was the wrong size. Once I bought a 2.5mm adapter, it works great. I expect as long as you match the plug to the radio, it will work fine. The USB serial chip-set is very stable. I have a similar cable from a different supplier for another radio and the serial port comes and goes on the PC. Which ever model of cable you buy, this is the right company.

Just flat works
Not much to say. It works. The cable installs easily, and Windows automatically installs drivers that work.I am using it to program an Icom M802 marine radio. Works just fine.Note that this is just the cable. No drivers, no programming software. Windows will automatically install the needed drivers. You supply the programming software needed for your radio.

This will NOT work with thr icom if-2800. I ...
This will NOT work with thr icom if-2800. I tried the original icom software, chirp, even tried putty to get a raw serial connection to the radio (been a network engineer for 15 years). My computer recognizes the cable and driver and assigns it a com port. When I try to connect to that com port neither LED light up and it triws for about 30 seconda and says cannot connect to radio. Yes, my icom is in cloning mode.n

This is the BEST cable for radio programming
This is the BEST cable for radio programming, including factory cables. Don't waste your money on any cheap "Prolific" chip-set cable, consider yourself warned. That is unless you enjoy riding the device driver merry-go-round.Customer support is second to none. If you don't see your cable, ask them. They are now making a cable for a "legacy" radio I requested and are checking if they can make a connector for a second.

Cable works flawlessly with Windows 10.
FTDI chipset eliminates the driver "kabuki dance" you experience with other cables. It just works with Windows native drivers. Worked perfectly with the Icom cloning software for my old ID-800H D-star rig to program it.
