Love this stuff!
--This was my first review__We have 10 children, so when my son's teacher sent home one of those dreadful "head lice is going around" letters, I wasn't thrilled. We discovered lice on my son on CHRISTMAS EVE! After carefully inspecting all of our children, only one of my other children had the disgusting things, and we began treatment immediately. Since we found them on Christmas eve, we had to start with Nix. This brand worked very well for us as far as killing the live lice. After one treatment, there were no live bugs on either of the boys. I carefully combed through their heads with the included lice combs to get all of the bugs out. After two days, I did another treatment and combed through again. Although I didn't find any large lice, I did find a lot of very small lice in both of their heads, indicating that it doesn't kill the eggs as advertised. Once I realized this, I purchased licefreee to try because I didn't want to continue using the pesticide versions on their heads every two days until our 10 day period of egg hatching was over. When it came in, I immediately sprayed both of the boys and left it in over night. The next morning, I washed and combed through their heads again. One child was COMPLETELY lice free (no babies...so it killed the eggs..yay!), and the other had 3-4 "very" small lice that were dead and petrified looking. I am confident that the key to getting rid of these things completely is consistent combing. It's not fun, but a necessary evil when you have a child with lice and you do not want your other children to get it. However, this stuff is amazing for killing the lice (and eggs) and I will be buying more to keep in our house in case we ever come down with this again since it's not available in any of our local drug stores. I like how you can use it as much as you want and not have to worry about exposing your child to a ton of chemicals. I also feel like it works better than the pesticides at dehydrating the eggs so they don't hatch. I would also recommend investing in tea tree oil! I was CERTAIN my 2 year old had lice when my son came home with it because they shared a brush a couple of days prior to us finding them. I have consistently washed her hair in tea tree oil shampoo AND sprayed her head with the oil since she goes to a daycare (now I'll be doing this with all of my children!), and she did not get lice from him. I've brushed her hair with the nit comb more times than I can count because I was certain she had it. Invest in licefreee, a good comb, and tea tree oil if you have a child with lice...just avoid all the pesticide routes all together.--Updated review--I just purchased three more of these to have as "back up" in case we ever get this again and can't find them locally. I will never EVER use pesticide treatments again on my children, as this stuff works wonders! We did two treatments, and here we are on 1/11 (first noticed them on Christmas eve) with no sign of the nasty critters. I just brushed through their hair again last night just to make SURE we were in the clear, and we were. :) Again, I will say that frequent brushing with a GOOD (metal) nit comb isn't really optional. They SAY it is...but I really think the key is to kill all the live bugs with this stuff and just brush through at least once a day for a week with a good nit comb. Honestly, who wants a bunch of dead lice in their hair anyway? Just take the time to get the things out and be done with it. I really like how you can treat multiple times with this stuff and not have to worry about the harsh chemicals as well.

Did not work to kill nits
Ordered a 3-pack, came on date promised. I have used the product on my daughter for the 3rd time, and have followed the instructions EXACTLY. I have also combed out all nits I could find with several different combs. We keep finding more, even after cleaning the house, car, clothes and furniture. I did see a drop in the amount of lice, but it obviously is not killing the eggs/nits. I will be requesting a refund.

Fantastic
Let me tell you a story about the lice problem that seemed never ending. My daughter complained about her head itching one day. I checked and checked but found nothing. Two days later, her head still itched. I checked again and found the colony. They'd only set up shop in one area of her head, but there were tons of them through her thick, straight, auburn hair. I was so distraught. My oldest son was absolutely eat up with the things, as well. My two year old had them too. Even I had them. I washed everything in the house and treated everyone except the baby with Rid. Two days after the application of Rid, I was still pulling LIVE lice out of three of the four heads that had it. I was shocked, Rid had never failed me. 7 days later, I retreated my daughter with Rid, shaved my oldest son's head, cut my hair (as well as my daughter's) and dyed my hair. This helped a bit, but I was still pulling live lice out of all of our hair. The 2 year old had even been re-infected. I found this at Wal-Mart, as well as buying it here on Amazon. One bottle worked on mine and my daughter's head. After I sprayed it on her hair, I combed through and got another live lice. I put it on a baby wipe and sprayed it with this and set it aside. Within a few minutes, the lice wasn't moving. I poked and moved it around with the comb to see if it would move at all, and 1 of its legs flailed about for a few seconds and it stopped again. I'm assuming it was dead. After the stuff dried, I washed out our hair, combed through it an got nothing. This stuff smells like licorice (or jäger) -- but it's not overpowering. It's much cheaper than rid, and it's not full of chemicals. The other three bottles I ordered from here will sit on the shelf in case we ever get these horrid things again, and I will be recommending it to everyone I can.

My daughter has very long and thick hair which makes it hard to deal with when comes to using the comb part but the good thing i
I've used this product when my daughter brought home lice from school, we were able to get it under control and no one else in the house had gotten it. My daughter has very long and thick hair which makes it hard to deal with when comes to using the comb part but the good thing is that we used this product every 4 days and never had an issue. It does smell like black liquorice which I really hate but some people like the smell. I wash the kids hair twice after it sits because sometimes doesn't come out the easiest and can make their hair look greasy the next day.

Works like a Charm!!
This is by far some of the best lice treatments on the market...ever since lice has morphed into this super lice stuff...all the drug stove over the counter products stopped working...I switched to Bernadette's Lice Removal Center but the Lice Center of Ohio in Central Ohio that we used they are basically the best in the market but at 50.00 buck a bottle for their spray it was something I didn't want to keep throwing money at although it works like a charm...they say a main ingredient is a enzyme that is extracted from the louse itself but toxic to it at the same time and they never can but a resistance to....so my wife and I tried giving this a whirl at a much better price...and boy have we been impressed...I hope this stuff stays in the market...it was a great investment for those that are at a frequent battle with this darn buggers...!
