If one reads the last page of tbe IBM ThinkPad service hardware manuals this item is listed as a common replacement and serviceable item. In other words they go bad often either will not eject or randomly eject or seek mom stop. I was sent a good item from Malaysia and not the Philippines model. Solid 2008 model OR. I flashed the firmware from rev.11 to rev.12 and it works great especially considering that a factory OEM goes for 4 Times what 10th cost me! Thanks amazon!
