MTV's Pimp My Ride - The Complete First Season

You have to love these guys! What makes this show work is not just the incredible remade cars, but the fun the guys of West Coast Customs have in pimping this cars, trucks and vans into fabulous rides. Xzibit is great fun to watch, there doesn't seem to be a mean bone in his body, as he pokes fun at the kids and the state their rides have devolved into. The body and interior work is briskly shown, not focusing on a wingnut here or 3/32 of an inch there, as is the case with other car and chopper shows on television these days. It is the big picture that counts, a vehicle that captures the imagination of the owner and viewer alike, customizing the auto to suit the nature of the owner. One is only left to wonder at the price tag of these recreations. There are many marvelous moments and the show still seems as fresh as ever, inspiring many copycat shows such as one in Italy where they pimp motor scooters, if you can imagine that.

My husband bought this. I have no clue why...I got an alert that this was purchased on my account and called assuming I had been hacked. I had...by a middle aged man who like to watch Xzibit fix up cars that technically should have been in a land fill years ago. And he knows the theme song so whenever we do any DIY project around the house he says "You gotta PIMP my RIIIIIIDDEEE". Ugh. It makes him happy though, so I am cool with it. Plus I think Xzibit was in the movie 8 mile and I liked that movie so overall, good purchase babe.

I really like this program but they need to make all seasons available to buy in bulk one of the seasons you have to buy each episode one by one and can't buy this season that has to be fixed!!

Love the show. But it’s revealed to be fake. Oh well. ‘Reality TV’ is fake anyway. 🤣

Love this dvd set, I haven’t seen this show in years definitely worth it.

I bought episode six just to watch my friend Mary Z! Love it!!
